The middle-class residential area of Ñuñoa is home to the national football stadium, Estadio Nacional, and to Santiago’s only mosque, Al-Salam Mosque. Most of the business takes place along Irarrázaval Avenue, which stretches across the entire barrio. The main reason to come to Ñuñoa is for the rich nightlife. The action is concentrated in Plaza Ñuñoa, which is full of bars with live music, restaurants and fast-food joints. Don’t miss Club de Jazz (www.clubdejazz.cl), which famously hosted Louis Armstrong. If rock is more your thing, then head to Batuta (www.batuta.cl).
Plaza Ñuñoa isn’t covered by the metro network. To get there, take the metro to Irarrazaval and take a bus (eastbound) to the plaza.
