By Shanie Matthews

South America is known for its handcrafted masterpieces. This is no exception in Santiago. One craft fair (feria) that offers many treasures to take home is the Feria de Bellavista. These artisans sell their wares, rain or shine, seven days a week. The thirty plus booths have a diverse range of goods. From custom made boots of any style (they take a week to complete) to jewelry made from the Chilean stone Lapizlazuli, the craftsmanship is of very high quality. Other items being sold include handmade guitars, jewelry, clothing, art and candles. Be sure to bring cash, though some of the vendors do accept credit cards.
