If you’re looking for a hangout spot that satisfies your cultural needs, Off the Record is a good option. Chilean artists, filmmakers and writers take the stage every Monday for performances, screenings and debates, and there’s live music every Friday and Saturday. The décor is kitschy with a literary flare (Bukowski’s poetry makes an appearance on the menu), and the atmosphere is laid-back. Food is moderately priced and ranges from traditional Chilean entrees to pizzas, sandwiches, and vegetarian dishes—and there are (surprisingly) several coffee and espresso options. A full bar is also available.
