The Museo de Artes Visuales (MAVI) opened in 2001. The permanent collection has more than 1,400 examples of modern Chilean art by more than 400 artists. The work includes paintings, sculptures, engravings, photography and drawings from the 1960s onwards. There are also regular exhibitions by major Chilean artists.
Guided tours are available from Tuesday to Friday, but you must contact the museum in advance at E-mail: educación@mavi.cl. Alternatively, tours run for the general public on Saturdays at 4 p.m.
