The Teleférico is a cable-car that runs from downtown Providencia to the top of Santiago’s highest hill, Cerro San Cristóbal. The ride takes about 20 minutes and on a clear day provides great views of Parque Metropolitano and the city.
Get off at Tupahue / San Cristóbal Station to enjoy the Mapulemu Botanic Gardens, Wine Museum, Tupahue outdoor swimming pool and Victoria Tower, wherea range of artisan goods are sold. Get off at Estación Cumbre if you want to take the Funicular (vertical train) and see the Virgen de la Immaculada Concepcion. Round trips cost US$3. The teleferico runs on Mondays and Tuesdays from 2:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesdays to Fridays 12:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
