Only a block from busy Providencia, this converted 1930s house is a surprisingly tranquil hostel. Paintings by local artists decorate the walls, and the original staircase and large wooden doors give the place a classic, dignified atmosphere. The spacious kitchen, comfortable common area and light-filled patio are big draws for any guests.

But it is the owners’ eagerness to create a sense of community among their guests that leads many to pick Ají. On various days the hostel has different promotions, like free pisco sours on Mondays, free pasta dinners on Wednesdays and an at-cost BBQ on Fridays.
