Avenidas Providencia and 11 Septiembre, and their side streets are lined with restaurants, cafés and fast-food joints to suit all budgets and tastes. You can choose from traditional Chilean food, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Peruvian, American and Mexican. Most establishments here cater to hungry office workers and many offer a set lunch menu that includes starter, main course, dessert and drink for under $10. Bear in mind that, with a fast turnover, service doesn’t always come with a smile; in most cases you get what you pay for. For a good bargain lunch, head to Avenida Suecia and the restaurants around Metro Los Leones. If you fancy something a bit more upmarket, try the restaurants on Metro Manuel Montt and on Avenida Manuel Montt. Many eateries in Providencia are closed on Sundays.
