Cerro San Cristobal Funicular - City Park Santiago - Chile

On a clear day, the view from the top of Cerro San Cristóbal is spectacular, providing the best view in the city of the stunning contrast between Santiago and its surrounding mountains. The hill is a popular ride for bikers on nice days, though the steep incline makes for a strenuous trip. Perhaps the easiest - and most unique - way to summit the hill is to take the funicular, which is a cable-pulled trolley that picks up at Pio Nono and takes visitors to the top, where the Virgen de la Immaculada stands waiting with open arms. The funicular also makes a stop at the zoo, for those who want to spend the day in the area.
