Museum
A must see during your stay in Santiago, this site was originally constructed in 1807, although it has been remodeled some since then, its original splendor is still very visible. At one time, when the Spaniards still ruled Chile, the Palacio was the site of the Supreme Court. Later the first Chilean congressional session was held here following their independence.
Today the Palacio holds the National History Museum. With over 70,000 different artifacts, ranging from clothing to weapons, anyone is sure to find something interesting to see that suits their interest. The museum also has a comprehensive exhibit on the history of Chile, which proves to be very interesting and informative.
