On the highlands of the city are two miradores giving views of the city rolling down to the shores of the Straits and across the Estrecho de Magallanes to the mythical land of Tierra del Fuego. Mirador de los So├▒adores is a small park on the median of Avenida Col├│n. The second look-out point, Cerro Mirador, is located atop a bluff on Calle Se├▒oret, between Seguel and Fagnano. This terraced plaza gives a less obstructed view of the almost-end of the world. It is located above the commercial port, from where you can watch ships plowing the icy waters toward further horizons.
Punta Arenas, Chile
You can easily walk to either of the miradores. Both are about 10-15 minutes from downtown.
Travel Tips: At Cerro Mirador are posts showing the direction and distance to other points around the globe.
