The restaurant scene in Porvenir is quite sparse. Most establishments are located in the town’s hotels. Few independent bistros exist. Seafood is a big item on the menus, at surprisingly inexpensive prices. Be sure to try centolla, or Southern King Crab. Many places offer daily specials on weekdays, which are generally more expensive than on the mainland. Several small general stores sell provisions.
