Oficina de Turismo, located in the museum, has a variety of brochures about the town (ask for the one on historical architecture) and the island. The carabineros (immigration and police) are on Chiloé 880 and Justo de la Rivera, Tel.: 76-1171.

Money
Banco Estado has an ATM that accepts MasterCard and Cirrus, and exchanges US dollars and Euros.Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Phillipi, between Croacia and Chiloé. Supermercado Paulina changes money (Señoret 346), as do other businesses, like the call center on Phillipi, during the tourist season.

An unnamed phone center has both international call service ($1 per minute) and internet ($1.60 per hour). Open daily 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m., 4:30-8:30 p.m. Phillipi 277. The public library provides a half-hour free internet. Monday-Saturday 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Muñoz Gamero and Zavatarro.

Porvenir has no pharmacies, except for the one at the hospital.
