On Avenida Señoret along the coast is a pod of buildings that forms the local artesano market. Agrupación de Artesanos Haalchin is a collective of artisans crafting Selk’nam dolls, wood carvings and masks, among other items (Tuesday-Sunday 11:15 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Tel.: 58-1271). Next door Teresa Muñoz Araya sells jackets, sweaters, hats and other knitted wear. All are made from natural-color wool from Tierra del Fuego (Monday-Saturday noon-6 p.m. Home workshop: Los Cisnes 0429). Artesanía Kore is the home workshop of Gastón Pérez who makes masks and replicas of Selk’nam utilitarian ware out of lenga and whale bone (corner Magallanes and Phillipi).
