Hostal San José - Hostel Ancud - Chile

Clean, homey, and with a view of Ancud from its hilltop location, Hostal San José is a solid budget option. A 10- or 15-minute walk from downtown in one direction, with the bus terminal in the other, San José is convenient for those who want access to both, though noise does travel between the house’s thin walls. Breakfast is included, and visitors also have free use of the kitchen. City ordinances that ban soliciting in the terminal notwithstanding, don’t be surprised if you’re approached while stepping off the bus. Be sure to bargain for the price. The same goes for the on-site tourism agency (Turismo Cahuel).
