Ancud is compact enough that you should have little need for local transport during your stay. The exception is the trip between downtown and the bus terminal (almost a half-hour walk for which you can take a regular taxi or a colectivo). Take a taxi at night, when it’s wise not to stroll around quiet streets unaccompanied. Major taxi gathering spots are next to the market on Dieciocho and on Pudeto.
