When to go

Like most of Chiloé, Ancud has a harsh climate. There can be intense rain for weeks at a time with a much-needed reprieve from the rain occuring in December and March. Summer is the driest time to visit, but it can rain it any season. Don’t miss semana Ancuditana (Ancud Week), a festival that takes place in late January to celebrate the islands founding; there is traditional music, dance and food.
