Ancud’s culinary scene revolves around local fish and seafood, so much so that you will be hard-pressed to find a restaurant not serving an ocean-based dish (not to mention the long search awaiting you if looking for vegetarian options). There are several fine dining options in the downtown area, although if you’re looking for the biggest bang for your buck, head to one of the cocinerías behind the market, where the local catch is served at reasonable prices.
