Nestled on a quiet side street, yet only a block from the plaza, El Chilote offers economically priced rooms in a comfortable, private house. The building is carpeted, which is atypical at this end of the budget spectrum; some rooms have a musty, even smoky, smell. Check your room before making a commitment. A bread-and-coffee breakfast is included, as is cable TV; rooms with both private and shared bathrooms are available. Regrettably, the kitchen is off limits.
