Budget travelers take heart: you’ll be challenged to walk more than a few steps anywhere in Castro without seeing signs for a “hostal” or “hospedaje.” Even at the very low end, you can easily snag a place with a warm bed and hot shower, that’s still within a few minutes from the plaza, for well under $10. There’s also a solid array of mid- and high-range options, though be sure to shop around, as quality can vary widely. As in the rest of Chiloé, prices can climb 15 percent during the high season.
