Palafito Hostel

Stylishly minimalist, and suspended over the water by a grid of wooden poles (hence the name), Palafito Hostel attracts a young, alternative crowd, who are attracted to the lack of TVs and prefer to spend the evening grilling on the deck and watching fishermen haul in their catches. You won’t be foregoing all technological comforts entirely if you stay at Palafito as the hotel does have WiFi. With its all-wood interior and spacious common areas, this is a smart choice if you’re looking to have the “palafito experience.” Breakfast is included and you get free use of the kitchen. Note that it’s a 15-minute walk into the main part of town.
