La Piazza

A definitive antidote to the deluge of sea creatures of all shapes and sizes that you’ve probably been consuming since arriving in Chiloé, La Piazza has a full-service Italian menu, including a range of pastas and some 31 kinds of pizza – one of which has mussels as a topping if you’re really in the mood for more. The portions are on the small side, and the faux Michelangelo’s David on the outside wall, with “El Arte de Hacer Pizzas” (The Art of Making Pizzas) scribbled underneath, does overstate the food’s quality, although the prices are agreeable enough ($4 for an individual pizza, $6.50 for a medium; pasta dishes start from $3.50), and there’s outdoor seating.
