Chiloé Hotels

Most of the park accomodations are located in, or just outside of, Cucao. Cabañas Conaf (56-65-532502; E-mail: pnchiloe@conaf.cl) offers four six-person cabins equipped with kitchenettes. Hospedaje El Paraíso (099-296-5465; Laura Vera, Cucao) has rooms without bathrooms for about $14, and camp sites for about $2. About 200 meters into the park is the Camping Sector Chanqúin (532-503), with plenty of privacy, hot water, firewood and toilets. Camp sites cost about $4 per person, and a seven-person cabin costs about $50. A more luxurious stay can be had at El Fógon de Cucao (56-99-946-5685), on the shore of Lago Cucao. Camp sites here costs about $6, and rooms in the rustic hostel (without bathrooms) about $20-40. The owners also arrange horseback and kayaking excursions. Camping is allowed anywhere in the park, and does not cost extra.
