A mere half-hour ride from Castro, the small town of Dalcahue is the main departure point for ferries leaving for Isla Quinchao. Dalcahue itself is worth more than just a passing glance. In local cocinerías you can watch all women roll empanadas and the Dalcahue church features an unbelievably bright restored painting, representing the mix in Chiloé between traditional and Catholic beliefs.
Minibuses shuttle between Castro and Dalcahue every 15 minutes throughout the day. If you want to stay the night, look for one of the lodging options around the church.
