
This small town of less than 6000 people is located near Pucon in the ArucanÃa Region of Chile. Curarrehue is the last town before the Argentine border and is home to Huerquehue National Park (home to 1000 year old trees) and Laguna Quillelhue (located at the base of Lanin Volcano) as well as hot spring and waterfalls. The vast majority (85 percent) of the population of Curarrehue are Mapuche who are dedicated to agriculture and tourism.
