Parque Nacional Huerquehue is 135 kilometers (81 miles) from Temuco, by way of Villarrica and Pucón, to Ruta 119. The roads are all-weather. The main park entrance is 35 kilometers (21 miles) east of Pucón.

Easily reached from Pucón, PN Huerquehue makes for a good day trip. From in front of the Pullman Bus station in Pucón leave buses of other, local companies for PN Huerquehue (8:30 a.m., 4 p.m.; return 2 p.m., 5 p.m., $3.20). Also you can catch the blue and white buseta from the side of the Pullman office, departing at 9:15 a.m. for Paillaico. This will leave you four kilometers (2.4 miles) from the park.
