As well as running a well-respected tour agency, Backpackers also has a popular hostel. It’s a comfortable space with the feel of an outdoors lodge. Most rooms have sturdy bunks (which, in the high season are filled as dorms), though a few have double beds. The accommodations in the main house share clean baths that have deliciously hot showers. Off the small garden patio are rooms with private bath. The common kitchen is a welcomed relief to the budget traveler’s wallet. In evenings, journeys hang out in the living room, sharing information and watching TV, keeping warm by the wood stove.
