On a side street, a half-block from busy O’Higgins are the aromas and flavors of the Orient. Outside on the street-side patio of Arabian Café Restaurant, people sip cups of espresso or Arabian coffee, their conversations wreathed by the smoke of their cigarettes. Grandfather came from Palestine and his family continues to cook the food he made for them. But it seems, though, the recipes got lost on their way to modern-day Pucón. The flavors are a bit off-kiletr. The tabouli has more lettuce than bulgur wheat, the pita bread is lifeless. Parsley dominates all dishes. À la carte $4.20-11.80. Open daily 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m., 7-10 p.m.
