The number of tour operators in Pucón is a mind-swirling experience. On every block are agencies touting to take you up the volcano, down the whitewater rivers or out to the hot springs. Avenida O’Higgins is virtually packed with these offices, from one end of the boulevard to the other. Several extend services to skiing, snowboarding and other winter sports. A few agencies, though, have other specialties, like fly fishing and birdwatching. With the plethora of tour agencies, it is hard to choose with which to take an excursion. Check with several and ask around to other travelers before settling on one. Some tour operators offer a discount if you book more than one trip with them.
