River Rafting and Kayaking

Other than fly fishing, rafting and kayaking are two main stays in Puerto Varas adventure sports. With the immense amount of water surrounding the village it is easy to see why. There are multiple tour companies that will take you on a leisurely paddle, or more strenuous escapades. If you don’t want to be hand-held by a guide there are companies, usually set up along the shore of Lake Llanqihue that will rent individual boats. There are guided sea kayaking ventures in Lake Llanquihue, Lake Todos Los Santos and in the nearby ocean bay of Puerto Octay and the Reloncavi Fjord. The river rafting trips float down the three and four class rapids of the Petrohue and Maullin rivers.
