When to Go to Temuco

Temuco has a temperate climate.

The winter months, April through August, are the coldest and rainiest. Temperatures reach only 12-15°C (54-59°F) during the day and drop to 5°C (41°F) at night.

January and February are the hottest months, hitting 25°C (77°F). Breezes are frequent. About once a decade Temuco receives a dusting of snow.

A few of the festivities to catch in Temuco are:

February 24 —Feria Artesanal de Temuco—To celebrate the anniversary of the city’s founding, this fair draws artisans from all over the country .

June 24—We Xipantu (also known as Nquillatún)—meaning “rising of the new sun,” this is the New Year ceremony of the Mapuche nation.

November—Exposofo—The region’s most important agricultural and artisan fair.
