From November to March many come to enjoy the region’s attractions, and prices rise and lodges fill accordingly. At this time of year, reservations are recommended. In autumn, small town businesses board up for the coming winter. Only a few hostels remain open and most campgrounds close. In towns with skiing and other winter activities, winter is another high season, when costs will likewise be higher.
