Tourism and Other Offices
The municipal tourism office is on the first floor of the bus terminal (daily 8 a.m. – 10 p.m. Tel.: 22-0498, E-mail: turismoterminaldebuses@gmail.com; English spoken). During the summer branches open in Parque Saval (Isla Teja, Tel.: 22-0495), and at the north and south entrances into town. Other tourism offices are Sernatur (Monday-Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Friday8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Tel.: 23-9060 / 23-9061, E-mail: infovaldivia@sernatur.cl, URL: www.sernatur.cl; English, German, French spoken) and Centro de Información Turístico (CIT) (Monday-Friday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Avenida Arturo Prat s/n, next to Feria Fluvial, Tel.: 27-8100; English spoken). Money
Banks are open for teller transactions Monday-Friday 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Most are located on or near the Plaza de la República. All ATMs accept MasterCard, Cirrus, Visa and Plus, except where noted.

Communications
Correos Chile is where to drop a letter to the folks back home (Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-7 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m.-1 p.m. O'Higgins 575). A substation is at the bus terminal. Internet is mainly found along Picarte and Chacabuco streets. They cost on average, $0.80 per hour. Most open at 10 a.m. and are closed Sundays. Skype is common, though cafés may not have headsets. Comunícate Internet y Centro de Llamadas charges only $0.70 per hour (Monday-Saturday 9:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Picarte 505). For cheaper international calls, across the street is tecno.cl, charging $0.20 per minute to the U.S., Canada, the UK and Germany and from $0.25 for other destinations (Monday-Saturday 10 a.m.-9 p.m., 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Picarte 500).
Medical
The public health facility is Hospital Regional (Avenida Simpson 850, Tel.: 29-7000). Most pharmacies are on Avenida Picarte and around the Plaza de la República. Farmacia Ahumada is open 24 hours (Picarte 310, Tel.: 25-7889). Farmacias del Dr. Simi is an international discount drugstore (Monday-Saturday 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Galería Arauco, local 5, Corner Calle Henríquez and Arauco).
Laundry
Laundromats in Valdivia charge per basket load (approximately 5 kg/11 lbs of clothes) Lavamatic charges $8 per basket and has same-day service (Monday-Friday 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m., 3-7 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m-4:30 p.m. Schmidt 305, Tel.: 21-1015).
