Museo de Leandro Penchulef, of the Pontífica Universidad Católica de Chile, has an impressive collection of Mapuche weavings, ceramics, woodcarving and silver jewelry. Founded with the cooperation of the indigenous community, their customs, culture and beliefs are explained in Spanish and Mapudungun. Also discussed is the history of intercultural relations (Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., 2:30-6 p.m. Calle Matta and Avenida O’Higgins. Entry: Free).
