Parque Nacional Bosque de Fray Jorge is a cloud forest odyssey set high atop the cliffs of the Chilean coast. The park is essentially a mountain with two faces, one dry and one which is misted daily by the clouds rolling in from the Pacific Ocean. In the lush forest looking out across the baron desert, you feel as if you're in an oasis in the sky. The walk around the cliff tops is suitable for all, with some sections having raised boardwalks and set view points. Although people do ascend the summit by car, it’s recommended that you do it in a 4x4.
