Located just 300 meters from the ocean, Stella Mar is a good value for those wanting the beach's proximity without the high prices. Backpackers won't find any dorms here, though. The hotel was built to accommodate groups or families in its various sizes and selection of apartment-suites – each fully equipped with a kitchenette (microwave, stove and fridge) and Wi-Fi. Guests can relax in the pool or on a padded lounge chair. Large groups (ten or more) can take advantage of Stella Mar's tour packages, which include trips to Valle de Elqui, Punata Choros, and a city tour of La Serena's Plaza de Armas, market and archeological museum.
