A small family-run hostel just a few blocks from the main bus terminal, Hostal Maria Casa is a quiet, charming, and inexpensive place to spend the night in La Serena. If you’re looking for lots of creature comforts or to be at the center of the city’s nightlife, this is not the place to come. The single and double rooms are clean and bright, opening onto a large and sunny central garden, and the mostly Spanish-speaking staff that run the hostel are eager to converse with travelers over a cup of coffee or an once.
