Near and around the main square is where you’ll want to go for most services in La Serena, since they tend to be concentrated in a single, safe location. Calle Cordovez is a street that consists primarily of pharmacies and banks. For laundry, M&B Laundry  (Peni 363, Telephone: 211 904) offers hotel pick up with two loads or more, but more centrally located is the Lavandaria Roma on Los Carrera 654. The city's regional hospital is on Balmeceda, between Juan de Dios Peni and Amunategui.
