This small museum, a short walk from Vicuña’s Plaza de Armas, is full of educational information (all in Spanish) and memorabilia from the Nobel Prize-winning poet’s life. Displays in the museum include first editions, photos and statues, various items from Mistral’s life, and the official replica of her Nobel Prize medal. Since as Mistral was a profoundly maternal figure, the museum appropriately has a small children’s area with interactive displays and artwork from local children. There is also a separate audiovisual room with art inspired by the poet’s life and works.
