As the weather in the valley is fairly moderate year round, there’s not necessarily a bad time to visit Vicuña. During the summer months, the town is crowded with tourists continuing on to the Elquí. During the winter, the town quiets down a bit. Most hotels, restaurants and activities stay open yearround. Visitors tend to prefer to visit Vicuña and the valley during the summer, since the pisco crop at this time of year turns the valley a brilliant green. But, the views are breathtaking at any time of year.
