Getting to and away from Mamiña
Just north of Pozo Almonte, at Km 1808.75 of the Pan-American Highway, is the turn-off for A-65, which goes to Mamiña (73 km / 44 mi). To arrive to La Mamiña with public transportation from Iquique is easy. Several companies go there daily: Santa Angela (daily 8 a.m., return 6 p.m., $7 one way), Cruz del Norte (Monday-Saturday 8 a.m., 4 p.m., return 8 a.m., 6 p.m, Sunday 8 a.m., return 6 p.m., $7.50).
