Parinacota, an indigenous-colonial village famous for its church and weaving, is a convenient starting point for hiking to the Bofedales de Parinacota and climbing Guane Guane. Easily accessible, Lago Chungará is a birdwatcher’s paradise. At these three sites are interpretive trails. A longer trail that can be walked or driven in car goes from the Chucuyo settlement to Laguna Cotacotani, another cradle of immense beauty and bountiful fauna.
