Approximately 28km from San Pedro de Atacama are the volcanic hot springs Termas de Puritama. These falls and pools of hot water that reach 30 degrees Celsius, produced by the hot water of the Río Puritama, are located in a small canyon. Hotel Explora is in charge of administration of the springs but it is open to the public for an admission fee of approximately $8.
