From a shared room in a hostel to renting a country house, the lodging options in Colombia have the capacity to satisfy every need and budget. Cities like Bogotá, Medellín and Cartagena are equipped with hotel chains of standard services, however, as you venture into the country and more desolated beaches you are bound to find lodging options such as finca hotels (ranches turned into lodges), country hotels and eco hotels. Currently the majority of environment friendly options are not so budget friendly, yet they are unique places worth your money, if you are willing to spring for it. There are also apartments in big cities, a good option for an extended stay. Make sure to take precautions if you are staying in a hostel, particularly if you are sharing a room, as some travelers who find themselves in need may find your belongings helpful.
