If you find yourself caught, Bucaramanga presents visitors various escapes from the eroded metropolis. Of course, La Ciudad de Jardines has many parks - city, recreational, botanical and zoological - as well as a surprising colonial nugget. The museums cover a range of topics, from the historical Casa de Bolívar and the archaeological Pierda del Sol to the Museo de Arte Moderno and the Universidad Industrial de Santander's Natural History. Neighboring Floridablanca, Piedecuesta and Girón are charming villages and host to some of Bucaramanga's attractions.
