Bucaramanguenses are proud to live in the "Ciudad de Parques," a well-deserved nickname for this city of almost two dozen parks. Parque Santander is the modern downtown. Down the bustling streets you'll find Plaza CĂvica Luis Carlos Galán, around which are governmental buildings, and Parque GarcĂa Rovira, the hub of the colonial town; here is the oldest church of this metropolis. Heading towards Floridablanca is Parque Los Lagos, a popular recreational area. Floridablanca has the JardĂn Botánico Eloy Valenzuela. Piedecuesta is home to the zoo. On the northeast edge of Bucaramanga, on the road to CĂşcuta, is Parque Morrorico with pleasant views.
