By Lorraine Caputo

A friendly, family-run inn, Hotel Amparo provides its guests with no-frill rooms with or without TV. All have private, cold-water baths and fan to keep you cool in the hot Bucaramanga climate. The beds are okay. The rooms are cleaned daily. In the main lobby of this two-story hotel is a television, and on the front patio there is a restaurant offering inexpensive breakfasts and comida corrientes. If you arrive on motorbike, there's parking inside. This is definitely one of the cheapest hostels with the ambiente familiar, guaranteeing you a safe, uneventful stay.
