Need a dose of US culture (or a reminder of why you might have left there)? Hop on a bus towards the burbs. Straddling either side of the highway are centros comerciales (shopping malls), all conveniently connected by pedestrian overpass bridges. Spend hours in these air conditioned, glittering palaces of consumerism, window shopping and munching down at the food courts. You’ll see some familiar “faces” in these places. There are even movie theaters showing the latest Hollywood blockbusters (or duds); Cañaveral has a Muiltplex cinema and La Florida has a Cinemark theater. If you need more pocket money, Cañaveral has banks branches and ATMs.
