Tour operators in Bucaramanga are few and far between; most businesses catering to journeyers are either travel agencies or airline offices. For most adventure sports, such as rafting, go to San Gil. A few specializing in paragliding, or parapente, are located at Mesa de Ruitoque, the premier place in Colombia to do this sport. However, make sure the operator does have proper equipment and certification. Few speak English or a language other than Spanish. In recent years accidents leading to permanent injury and even death have occurred.
