La Chorrera - Hiking Capitanejo - Colombia

Toppling 60 meters (197 feet) down a rock face is La Chorrera waterfall. A motorcycle taxi can take you as far as the Chorrera school ($5.30) if you don’t want to walk the approximately 10 kilometers (6 miles) from town. Still, it’s a one-hour hike further into the mountains to see these waters cascading down towards the Río Nevado, its waters eventually mixing with those of the Río Chiamocha. To cool off after this trek, plunge into the pool at Balneario Hacienda Loma Linda.
