Hotels in Capitanejo are all pretty basic, with only fans to cool your room and cold water showers (though with the heat in Capitanejo, this is barely a hardship). All have the typical, tropical Latin American construction; ventilation is provided through latticed concrete blocks which are unscreened, as are the windows. This, needless to say, allows mosquitoes to come in search of the exotic visitor. Reservations are highly recommended for holiday times.
